Hi, I'm Austin

I believe there's a spark within each of us that is waiting to come alive.

Before every big decision, that spark inside of us flashes for an instant. We notice it. We may or may not acknowledge it.

What that spark represents is a break in the trail where we decide which path we’re going to take. Will it be the one that offers little resistance, yet denies a deeper calling? Or the whispering one we keep shying away from? Yes, it can feel scary and dangerous. Yes, we'll experience growing pains.  But under the right conditions, the flame can be tamed.

I empower people like you to create the conditions needed to not only witness the spark within, but to give it fuel and create the ember that will last a lifetime.

Over the years, I’ve undertaken a journey of transformation after facing dark times throughout adolescence and early adulthood.

At 18, a few bad habits coupled with the sudden passing of my brother led to a major wake up call. I knew I wasn't leading the life I was capable of and that changes needed to be made. Problem was, I didn't know how and I was too afraid to ask for help.

Not long after, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in commercial diving school. This endeavor provided the foundation, structure, and support that I needed at age 20. It resulted in my first working gig in Southeast Alaska, where I quickly learned the value of situational awareness, communication, and humility. Exposed to the elements and dangerous working conditions, being vigilant, prepared, and adaptable to the ever-changing environment around me became crucial.

I continued marinating in the marine construction industry for some years, building upon my skillset and confidence until curiosity for the world at large crept back in. Despite having a good footing financially, I felt as if I'd remained physically, emotionally, and spiritually stagnant. Fortunately, I trusted my intuition that it was time to exit the diving world in search of something greater.

Life hasn't always been smooth sailing (ANd Still isn't)

Like many people I work with, I hit my own version of rock bottom over and over again until, thankfully, I decided to make a change or two.

My Philosophy

It's both a top-down and a bottom-up approach.

The story we tell ourselves directly affects how our bodies respond, just as the food and beverage we consume directly influences our clarity of mind. The body and mind are inseparable and should be treated as such.

I can't help but work with my clients using a holistic approach. Any other way would be incomplete.

That's why I consider every aspect of life to be invaluable and worth investigating: Breathing, Movement, Mindset, Communication, Nutrition, Sleep, Relationships, Finances, Emotional Intelligence, Vocation, Purpose, you name it.

Only after understanding the whole person can we determine what the right next step is.

Playing the Long Game

My approach to life has shifted drastically over the years.

After suffering a heavy loss as a youngster, I inherited the worldview that I had to live it up in every moment, for death is always right around the corner.

As I grew older and shed more layers, it dawned on me that there's a real possibility of living well into old age.

Some powerful experiences helped clear the fog and open my eyes to what life could look like if I act today for a better tomorrow.

Nowadays, I do my best to oscillate between radical presence and zooming out to the big picture. This approach is what I bring to every coaching session and beyond.

Beyond coaching

Life On My Terms

The way I coach is inseparable from the way I choose to live. When I’m not working, you can find me "following my bliss" as Joseph Campbell puts it.

Whether it's wandering the mountains, spending time with loved ones and friends, training Jiu Jitsu, tending the land, cooking nourishing meals, reading books, learning new skills, or doing anything else that brings me joy, I am here to leave no stone unturned. In the process, I intend to pay it forward for as long and as much as I can.

Each path offers the illusion of safety— only one promises the light.
